Ministry says bread prices in Russia stable now
MOSCOW, Dec 14 (PRIME) -- The situation with bread prices in Russia is currently stable, and the level of wheat prices is acceptable both for farmers and processers, First Deputy Agriculture Minister Dzhambulat Khatuov told reporters Friday.
“If we are talking about prices for agricultural products, for example, wheat of the third, fourth class, then today we have a right price formula both for agricultural producers and processers,” he said.
In 2018, Russia’s grain harvest amounted to 110 million tonnes in net weight, including 70 million tonnes of wheat. “This is a good balance of grain crops consumption on the domestic market. That’s why there could not be any threats to flour inside the country,” Khatuov said.
“Moreover, there are special commissions in all Russian regions that monitor (the price level), and the corresponding balances available in the country today allow us to confidently talk about price stability on the domestic market,” he said.
Khatuov also said that the state of winter crops in Russia does not currently evoke any concerns.
